Our soy beans are NON-GMO, USDA Certified Organic and grown locally, allowing us limit fossil fuel transportation impact. And NON-GMO? We strongly believe that GMO or genetically modified organisms are harmful to the earth and everything on it and do not use any known GM crops or materials. Our products have been awarded the USDA Organic Seal and the USDA Quality Certification Service Seal, and we are certified Kosher.

We’ve been making soyfoods at Twin Oaks Community in Virginia since 1991. Twin Oaks Community foods is a worker-owned cooperative, and we live, work and make tofu together in a unique eco-conscious co-housing community founded in 1967. Our eco-community is entirely self-supporting with products made by our own hands. We make our own soyfoods, package and box them right here at Twin Oaks Community, and we handle local delivery, too. Original Plain Tofu: Quality organic tofu, extra firm and easy to cook with. No need to press or drain! Firm and ready-to-cook right out of the package.

Fine Herb Tofu: Our extra firm tofu, seasoned throughout with organic basil, tarragon, marjoram, and chives.

Italian Herb Tofu: Extra firm tofu seasoned throughout with organic garlic, onion, basil, fennel seed, and black pepper.

Vegetarian Sausage: Spiced and bound with wheat gluten to have the taste and the texture of meat, without all the liabilities that meat-eating brings. We make two tasty extra chewy varieties: Breakfast Style and Sweet & Spicy Chorizo.

Wild Mushroom Okara Spread: Delicious! A smooth-spreading vegan delicacy. Great on crackers, toasted bread or pita, or with fresh vegetables as a dip.

Soy Tempeh: A dense, earthy soyfood that is a great meat replacement. Tempeh is made by introducing a live culture to soybeans and fermenting. Just like tofu, it is a versatile meat substitute. Tastes great too!

“More Than Tofu”: We’ve been making it since 2005 for our friends at Sunergia, and now it’s all ours. “More Than Tofu” starts as our incredible Twin Oaks Tofu AND THEN we season it with a tasty blend of of the best herbs and spices, and marinade in tamari. It’s ready to eat right from the package, and is great as a recipe short-cut. NOM NOM!!
